Kid Review: Pat’s Pizza of Scarborough

“It looks like a fun place because there are a lot of middle-aged men laughing at the bar.”

By Xavier O’Dell, 11

Recently I went to Pat’s Pizza for the first time. I thought it was fun. Here’s why.

When you walk in, you smell pine from the newly built section of the restaurant. It looks like a fun place because there are a lot of middle-aged men laughing at the bar. It has lots of town memorabilia, like pictures of Scarborough sports teams. If you want to watch a sporting event, there’s no way with that many TVs that you wouldn’t see it. The music is mostly 70s and 80s rock, which is lively.

The menu is extensive. It consists of pizza, calzones, salads, and lots of other stuff. I had a meat calzone. The dough was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. When I broke it open, the cheese was really stretchy. The salami was juicy and the sausage was spicy. My brother got a 9-inch pepperoni pizza. It is nice that they include this on the menu because my brother and I don’t like sharing pizza.

The staff are nice. After we finished our lunch, we asked for the bill. When it came, there were four chocolate mints – one for each of us. The bathrooms were sparkling clean and smelled nice.

Finally, I think Pat’s Pizza is a good place for

  • A sports team after they’ve won a game
  • Middle-aged men who like sports
  • Birthday parties
  • Motorcyclists

This is a place that kids should ask their parents to go to. I hope you’re able to visit it.
