Kid Review: Jojo’s Thai Kitchen

A taste of Thailand right in Scarborough

By Cam O’Toole, 11

Have you ever gone to a Thai restaurant? Well if you have, or even if you haven’t, Jojo’s Thai Kitchen is for you. It has a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes. For kids who don’t know, Thai food has a lot of rice and noodles and there’s no bread. There’s meat and vegetables. It’s a bit spicy but in a good way.

The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. When you walk in, there is artwork from Thailand and there is quiet music playing in the background. It smells like amazing Thai food. You can see it is very clean. The server led us to our table and gave us our menus. She served us drinks and asked for our order. The food came lightning fast.

I had the House Fried Rice with beef. The beef was very soft and tender, the vegetables were cooked well, and it was a big portion. Next, my brother had the Mango Fried Rice with crispy duck. The outside of the duck was crispy and delicious, the inside was soft and juicy. The carrots were cut like flowers. My mom had Krapow Kai Kaidow. This dish was recommended by the owner and just as delicious as he said it was, with just the right amount of spice.

People who would like this restaurant are: people from Thailand, because it would remind them of home, people who are going to Thailand so they can be prepared and get to know the dishes, and people who are practicing chopstick skills. If you’re a person who likes candy, I recommend take-out because there is a dish of candies waiting for you when you pick it up.

In conclusion, I would recommend Jojo’s Thai Kitchen to everyone on Earth but especially people in Scarborough because it’s close. I think kids would like it because you get to use chopsticks. Parents would like that it has good food, the owners are nice, and you can get take-out.
