Pine Point Report: Aug-Sep 2025

Community meeting Aug 26

By Pine Point Association

Summer is in full swing at Pine Point. Local businesses are open, cottages are filled, the days are longer, and we’ve left behind all those rainy Spring Saturdays!

New Members

Our association is honored to have two new business members since our last report: The Clambake and Pine Point Bliss Cottages. We value business members because they serve generations of residents who call Pine Point “home” and those whose visits are an annual family tradition.

Fourth of July

The Firehouse was hopping on July 4th with the 22nd Annual Pine Point Parade and Kid’s Fun Run! Two hundred thirty kids ran the race and over 380 “kids of all ages” enjoyed strawberry shortcake after the parade. The Annual Pine Point Parade is planned each year by the Pine Point Community Group & Parade Committee. The Parade Committee extends special thanks to their Grand Marshall, George Mageles (above), and to the Town of Scarborough Police, Fire, Public Works, and Community Services for partnering with them. Special thanks also to the Maine Veteran’s Home for bringing 20 of their residents to be in the parade to honor these American heroes.

Community Meeting

On Tuesday, August 26 at 6pm at the Pine Point Firehouse, Pine Point Association invites our members, businesses, neighbors, town officials, and the Scarborough community to join us for a General Community Meeting. We will share the Town’s long-awaited design for a Complete Streets project on East Grand Avenue from Pine Point Road to the Old Orchard Beach Line. Complete Streets are designed for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. We look forward to sharing the association’s ongoing projects and accomplishments, as well. There will be pizza, beverages, special guests, and door prizes!

Beach Clean-up Day

Our annual fall beach clean-up day will be Saturday, September 13 at 8:30am. All are welcome. For more information, email George Mageles at gmageles@hotmail.com.

Welcome to summer at Pine Point!

Before the beach chairs and traffic jams, there was cod, corn, and just enough chaos to call it a town.
