Kid Review: Taste Me

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat or a full meal, Taste Me is for you. It is a new restaurant on Route 1 by Dunstan Corner. It’s where the Terra Cotta Pasta Company used to be.

When you go into Taste Me, it is very bright and feels happy. The walls are painted blue and yellow. There is upbeat music in the background. It is also very clean. It is a counter-service restaurant and there are tables where you can eat.

The menu is mostly Vietnamese sandwiches but there are some different types also, like a BLT. I got the Orange Chicken Sandwich which had chicken with a very good, sweet and tangy sauce, plus lettuce. The chicken was juicy and soft.

My mom had the Wagyu Sando. She said it was a large portion, and the sauce was very good. Wagyu beef is a special kind of beef that comes from Japan and is really good. I looked it up and it says it’s because the fat is evenly spread out.

My brother had the Chinese BBQ Banh Mi, which is like a sub with pulled pork that was marinated in Chinese BBQ sauce. He liked that it tasted like BBQ but it wasn’t overloaded with sauce.

We also tried something from their bakery case. They have a large selection of items that are unique. For example, we tried the Bacon and Cream Cheese Bun. They warmed it up for us and it was amazing. It was soft on the inside with cream cheese in the middle and some honey on the bottom. It also had bacon sprinkled on the top. It was cut into sections so it was easy to share (and see if your brother was taking too much).

Some of the other baked goods were Basque Burnt Cheesecake and Pistachio Chocolate Soft Cookie. It looked like someone spent a lot of time on them.

Kids would like Taste Me because of all the baked goods and the food comes fast. Parents would like it because of the selection of food that they have.

I think Taste Me is a good addition to Scarborough. All the people there are nice and helpful. The food is very unique and the baked goods are exceptional. It would be good for someone who’s going to Pine Point and wants to take food to the beach. I would recommend it to anyone who just wants a quick bite or a big meal. You should go.
